Ireland, Cork

“While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” These things Jesus spoke, and departed, and was hidden from them.”

‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭36‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As the shores of Ireland came into view I heard “behold I’m doing a new thing in the earth”.

Walking off the ship and catching a shuttle bus to the town of Cork we had purchased tickets in advance for a very unique experience. A tour of the original Titanic ticket office allowing visitors to walk the hallways the last group passengers labored through bringing them to a dock with tender boats which would escort them to the Titanic. They told a story of an Irish boy who arrived by Titanic. He had made friends on board and wishing him to remain with them they had purchased a ticket for him to go on with them to New York. Sternly is uncle refused requiring him to disembark in Cork, thus saving his life. Another passenger disembarked in Ireland who had taken 79 photos of the Titanic, its crew and passengers. Today they are the best surviving images. Titanic was an epic tragedy that still haunts the world to this day.

After our emotional experience there my son informed me that there would be a Bible study on board our ship at 5:45pm. Deciding he would lead it, he immediately began preparing. We arrived and met a couple from Hong Kong, a lady from Sydney and another from California. 1,200 passengers on board our ship and among us and only 6 were moved by The Spirit to take time away to honor our Great and Mighty God. We encouraged each other in our faith and studied Proverbs 7-8. Before concluding our time together, I asked if I could pray for the group and together we magnified, extolled and exalted the name of Jesus right there in the Board Room on the 14th floor of the Oceania, Marina while docked in Cork, Ireland.
