On The Streets Of Paris

On The Streets Of Paris

The moment the city came in my view from my seat on the airplane my eyes filled with tears. I’ve harbored a deep love for the French my entire life spending decades in my youth all the way through college learning the language well enough to immerse in the culture. My only explanation is that my heart is filled with The Father’s love, Notre Pere, for His people. The moment our plane touched down and we disembarked and merged with the people I tried to control my emotions. I literally wanted to hug each and every person I came across. As we traveled down the escalator to baggage claim I asked God to orchestrate our steps here! He did!

Our first tour guide was from Israel! Her family still lives there and she currently has family serving in the military. Immediately I poured out my heart to her telling her of our love for Israel and reinforcing our unwavering support. My husband cautioned me to be careful as we were in Europe but I could not hold back. Her face lit up with the love of Christ that God Himself was pouring out on her. By the end of our tour she was absolutely glowing in His love.

At Sacre Coeur, a famous French Cathedral and landmark, a group of French nuns arrived. As they climbed the massive stairs leading to the cathedral they passed right by me.  Quickly I grabbed one and asked her to pray the “Our Father” prayer with me in French. It was an intense moment of connecting with God in a very unique way. I tried to maintain my composure.

In my time with the Lord on our second morning in Paris He began to speak to me in French! This was a first for me to hear from the Lord in French! To translate, He said “I give you My light”.

At the end of our trip I sat down and considered all of our wonderful tour guides and the amazing people we met. My mind and spirit were flooded with new experiences. Everyone was so nice! As I considered each encounter I began to realize that God can use us to share His light (His love) and when it shines on people they glow!

Remain aware of the fact that the Jesus in you can bring out the best in people everywhere you go. What a responsibility! We are ambassadors for life and can be change agents in every circumstance we enter.
