Surety During The Shift

 Surety During The Shift

Have you ever considered the story of Sarah from her perspective?

Like Sarah, God’s plan for your life is grandiose!

“Then the Lord took Abram outside and said to him, “Look up into the sky and count the stars if you can. That’s how many descendants you will have!” And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭15‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Abraham is remembered for believing God. Sarah struggled.

“Then one of them said, “I will return to you about this time next year, and your wife, Sarah, will have a son!” Sarah was listening to this conversation from the tent. Abraham and Sarah were both very old by this time, and Sarah was long past the age of having children. So she laughed silently to herself and said, “How could a worn-out woman like me enjoy such pleasure, especially when my master—my husband—is also so old?””

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭18‬:‭10‬-‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The second time this extraordinary promise was given, it was closer than ever before. In her divided heart Sarah disqualified herself.

Later though the promise was close at hand something happened which caused it to appear invalid.

“Abraham introduced his wife, Sarah, by saying, “She is my sister.” So King Abimelech of Gerar sent for Sarah and had her brought to him at his palace.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭20‬:‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Alarmingly a shift came making it appear Sarah would take a different path. There was no way for her to know that God would intervene.

On two separate occasions Sarah was suddenly shifted and brought into two different kingdoms causing her to face a different path for her life.

Many of you reading this may find yourself in a similar place, wrestling with thoughts of: “this is the wrong direction”, “how can God fulfill His promise here?”, or “maybe the Lord is finished with me.”

As I considered the perspective of Sarah, Holy Spirit caused me to visualize taking an awkward path through a corporate building undergoing expansion. I could see the odd carved out path covered with plastic with the insides of walls visible. Suddenly signs flashed before my eyes that read: “Pardon Our Progress” and “Here We Grow Again”. These comical statements continued to repeat themselves until understanding came. Noticing the careful wording of these signs I perceived that they led you to overlook the mess and instead focus on the potential ahead!

With great anticipation Holy Spirit desires to remind each of us today that we are navigating an extremely significant transition. Resist the urge to glance around, observe and question. Instead remember Sarah, who lived to see the glory.

“The Lord kept his word and did for Sarah exactly what he had promised. And Sarah declared, “God has brought me laughter. All who hear about this will laugh with me.”

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭21‬:‭1‬, ‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

At just the right time the Lord’s divine plan unfolded exactly as He promised.

Today it is imperative that we allow the Lord to remove the limitations from our minds through the power of the blood of Jesus.

“They wove thorn branches into a crown and put it on his head, and they placed a reed stick in his right hand as a scepter. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted, “Hail! King of the Jews!””

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Violently the crown of thorns was pressed onto the head of Jesus drawing blood.  There is power in that blood that came from His head to break strongholds, boundaries, and hindrances off your mind so that you may be released to move into the promise.
