Be So Heavenly Minded That You Bring The Goodness of God To The Earth

“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.”
Colossians 3:1-4 NLT

Have you ever heard someone say “don’t be so Heavenly minded that you’re no earthly good”? This little unscriptural expression has floated around the body of Christ for decades keeping people “grounded”. That’s an old phrase for an old season, it has no bearing on the times we are living in today. The terms and conditions have changed. We need to start our days entering Heavenly places through worship and thanksgiving keeping our heads in the clouds of Heaven as we go about the day. This mindset will help you see clearly and not tolerate demonic infiltration in your lives. When you see it expel it!

A family member called me yesterday right after I left church. She was in an absolute panic. (God is in the process of delivering her from decades of an oppressive, abusive home situation and she is still in the middle of her battle.) She had discovered and misinterpreted some emails and was irate, intimidated and on the verge of insanity, having heart palpitations and unrest in her stomach. I discerned this was a demonic spirit at work so when I got off the phone with her I sat down at my kitchen table and sent out the word of God to work on her behalf. (When you declare scriptures angels are dispatched along with your words, Jesus watches over His word in order to perform it, so send out scriptures and picture the words of God taking affect in the persons life as you speak them.) A few hours later I called her and she was a little better, I continued to speak words of love and victory over her telling her “you are not alone, your family is standing with you, God has opened a door that no man can shut and you are clothed with strength and dignity”. Her health began to improve and her voice grew stronger as we spoke. The power of the enemy eventually broke and Heaven came in as we talked through everything and when she went back to look at the emails again she saw something she didn’t see before! In fact she discovered that nothing was as she had originally perceived it to be, in fact it was a complete reversal in her favor! I exhorted her saying “isn’t it amazing how quickly the tables can turn?” The right perspective can change everything.

Let’s study how we can train ourselves to become Heavenly minded.

“I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High. When my enemies turn back, They shall fall and perish at Your presence. For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging in righteousness. You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever.”
Psalms 9:1-5 NKJV

How did praise move the hand of God? King David focused his mind on all the things God had done for him and for others. He constantly remembered every blessing and testimony and shared the stories with those around him spreading thankfulness to God everywhere he went! I’m seeing a pattern of worship and breakthrough in peoples lives now. It’s as though our worship rumbles Heavenly places and shakes free the things God has released to us that the enemy has held back until now.

We need to enter this holiday season with great anticipation of seeing God move in new and different ways.

“Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”
Matthew 11:4-6 NKJV

Jesus promised that we would do even greater works than He did. How much greater? That is up to us! We are stepping into that now! God is moving in a new way, an unusual way. You will experience and behold sudden unusual and unexpected miracles in this season. With each wave of the miraculous stop and honor God, tell others about it, recount it to Him when you pray. Go ahead now and prepare yourself for this new way of life.

“The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people. When He avenges blood, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the humble.”
Psalms 9:9-12 NKJV

“Those who know Your name will put their trust in You”. The word “name” translates to “reputation, fame, glory”. This is a great time to worship Him for His reputation! He never leaves His beloved, we will never be forsaken, He fights our battles, His right hand upholds us, His Help has made us great, He is our victory and our shield, He is our very present help, great and mighty is the Lord, He is the King of Glory, The Lord strong and mighty! JESUS!

Would you like to read a description of Heaven?

“And instantly I was in the Spirit, and I saw a throne in heaven and someone sitting on it. The one sitting on the throne was as brilliant as gemstones—like jasper and carnelian. And the glow of an emerald circled his throne like a rainbow. Twenty-four thrones surrounded him, and twenty-four elders sat on them. They were all clothed in white and had gold crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning and the rumble of thunder. And in front of the throne were seven torches with burning flames. This is the sevenfold Spirit of God. In front of the throne was a shiny sea of glass, sparkling like crystal. In the center and around the throne were four living beings, each covered with eyes, front and back. The first of these living beings was like a lion; the second was like an ox; the third had a human face; and the fourth was like an eagle in flight. Each of these living beings had six wings, and their wings were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day after day and night after night they keep on saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty— the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.””
Revelation 4:2-8 NLT

Wow! Sensory overload! There’s so much to think about and try to imagine. Multiple wonders on display simultaneously in all directions in Heaven. If you are looking for something pleasant to occupy your thoughts try and picture this! You are a citizen of this great place! You can walk in the power and presence of this! You have the ability to bring this in to the places you enter.

Finally here is a measuring stick to help you keep your heads in the clouds of Heaven. Everyday I pray on the armor of God detailed in Ephesians 6. Each piece of spiritual armor has a purpose, and when I reach the Helmet of Salvation I thank God that this piece of armor protects power, love and a sound mind. I then pray these two verses which are a great measuring stick to help us control what we allow ourselves to think about.

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”
Philippians 4:8 NLT

When the enemy tries to wake you in the middle of the night with thoughts of doom and dread just simply have another thought! Choose to believe that the angels who have been assigned to you are protecting you. Ask God to reward your guardian angels for their service. Choose to have peace instead. Dismiss the thoughts of the enemy and think about something pleasant instead.

“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Romans 15:13 NLT

As I mentioned in a previous post, we’ve been prisoners of hope for a while now, but in this new season of sudden unusual miracles we are now children of destiny.

Today I can actually discern the body of Christ coming together in unity all over the world. A powerful compilation of uncompromising strength straight from Heaven has been imparted to each of our spirits and I feel the army of Heaven unifying, advancing, and pressing forward together as blessings break forth all around. I pray that we can all get our heads back in the clouds and be so Heavenly minded that we bring the goodness of God to the earth.
