Positioned For The Outpouring

Positioned For The Outpouring

People of God take your places! I attended a ministry teaching at church a few nights ago and observed the divine workings when there is proper alignment in the body of Christ. I watched a man of God teach and minister in spite of a migraine headache and a tiny crowd of believers and I witnessed a powerful release of God’s spirit as it fell, took hold of and directed the course of the meeting. The man was completely submitted to his spiritual covering and the direction of our House of God. I witnessed how the proper alignment from the top yielded a deep drawing from the office of the prophet. This moment in time reminded me that there are many gifted individuals in the church but only those who surrender to the direction of church leader ship will tap into the great depths of the power of God deposited in their spirits. Without submission, trust and alignment with leadership they will live frustrated unfulfilled lives like that of a kinked water hose turning on and off randomly.

Let’s look at some of our favorite Bible characters and their stories to learn how God honors and pours His power through people aligned with purpose and covering. Read the words of Solomon on the day he honored the Lord and his father David by completing the Temple.

“So the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke, and I have filled the position of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, (stop) as the Lord promised; and I have built the temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.”
II Chronicles 6:10 NKJV

1. Honor begins in the home. This first sentence struck my spirit. “I have filled the position of my father David…” He was able to stand before God as a man who has wholeheartedly honored his father and was confidently standing in a position of favor with God.

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”
Exodus 20:12 NKJV

This is one of the 10 Commandments that carries with it a promise of a long a blessed life in your place of promise! Anytime sickness tries to come on you pull out this word and say “I have and continue to honor my parents (or their memory) and I will live a long life in my place of blessing”.

Solomon continues:

“and he said: “Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven or on earth like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts. You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.”
II Chronicles 6:14-15 NKJV

2. We must honor God. He must be the center of your life, your primary focus, the cry of your heart, and the Object of your passion and zeal! Solomon elevated God first and foremost then he exalted His promises with equal honor. When we honor His words we see them carried out in our lives.

Let’s look at the Lepers!

“Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.”
Luke 17:12-14 NKJV

Healing comes when we honor God.

“So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
II Kings 6:16-17 NKJV

3. Elisha’s servant honored his spiritual leadership and God opened his spiritual eyes to see powerful things! When we honor the spiritual leadership God has placed over our lives we will move in the gifts of the spirit assigned to our lives and maybe even surprising gifts!

“And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.”..So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.”
II Kings 5:10, 14 NKJV

4. God makes all things new in our obedience. He wasn’t just healed from his simple act of obedience he was fully restored to the original place where his life began! Naaman like others doubted the instructions given to him. The enemy loves to make us doubt directives given to us by spiritual leadership. He will attempt any demonic feat to cause you to disobey a directive so that he can knock you out of alignment. Remember this truth and carry it.

“When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices (that’s us) and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.”
II Chronicles 7:1 NKJV

5. Alignment makes you a conduit for glory! All of these elements of honor were in place and Solomon stood in his position to receive the greatest outpouring ever experienced to date! Gods response was a powerful tangible release of His glory. Heaven has been waiting for this moment in time! We are in a soaking season. We will soak and soak and soak up the glory being released from Heaven until we are rearranged from within and empowered to move with angelic forces to take the land and establish His Kingdom on the earth.
