Entry 2

Our first visit was to Zeus’ Temple. As we reached the temple grounds I realized that in our rush to meet our tour guide, while recovering from jet lag, we had not yet prayed together as a family so we joined hands on the site and lifted up the name of Jesus Christ as King of kings in the Temple of Zeus!

People travel thousands of miles to see impressive man made structures like The Parthenon. Can you imagine the glorious creations erected to God through worship in the spirit? What if we could tour the world and see those spiritual sites?

Filled with ridiculous faith I issued a decree in the spirit that the prime minister of Greece would exclaim: “we began in error and rather than continuing in error I rededicate all the temples in the land to the glory of Jesus Christ”.

Today as I was shopping in the market a store manager asked how we were enjoying our visit. His younger assistant had to translate back and forth between us. Responding I began to gush with zeal for the city of Athens. I could feel the love of Christ pouring out of me as I recounted to them the incredible experiences we’ve enjoyed in their beautiful city. The cuisine, the construction, the culture! Astonished the manager gazed at me, clearly affected by the love of Christ which was filling the room. In his best English exclaimed: “you are different, you stand out from all others in the crowd, there is a light coming out of you!” Knowing it was Jesus, the Light of the world, I asked if he would like to know what it was. He nodded his head and I simply said “it’s Jesus”. I watched his face as the young girl translated my words to him. He then put his hand over his heart and uttered: “I understand…Me too”.

The love of Christ is a very dynamic and compelling force.
