Bodrum, Tukieye 

Our Turkish guide explained that Bodrum was named after Peter, apostle of Jesus Christ.

We saw a chapel that was converted into a mosque. Inside under the chapel floor bones of a saint of God were discovered and preserved then covered by a clear flooring enabling them to be viewed. The discovery of their existence spoiled its use as a mosque. We went inside and touching the walls, pleading the blood of Jesus and felt the warmth of God’s love fill the space as stood on the stone floors inside. 

The queen of the land had helped Alexander The Great when he came to conquer the territory and gave him a strategy that would lead to fewer losses. She adopted him as her step son and she was able to continue her reign until her death. 

Women were given equal rights to men in the 1930’s here which is unusual for a Muslim country. The entire country remains democratic regarding religious requirements.
