Have you ever wondered what it was like in the land of Goshen when the hand of God began shaking Egypt?
“And the hail struck throughout the whole land of Egypt, all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail struck every herb of the field and broke every tree of the field. Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, there was no hail.”
Exodus 9:25-26 NKJV
What was it like for Israel as they remained in the land of Goshen watching an entire civilization be violently shaken by the hand of God? For some it must’ve been a terrifying time. Many probably believed the prophets but could not contain their fear. Constantly wondering what would come next, they probably were unable to eat or sleep in peace. Others, who were fully convinced and trusted God completely, were in a position to witness Him acting just as He had promised and for them it was a time of wonder!
The wonders of God displayed in the earth will terrify many but stir the souls of the beloved!
“For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does.”
Psalms 145:13 NLT
The Kingdom is close at hand. I am discerning a heavy drawing by the Spirit into places of profound solitude with God. There is a weightiness on this time as though His hand is covering and holding us down. It is a time to experience nourishment by the peace of these quiet places and refreshment by the proximity to the breath of the Almighty.
Over the past week I have constantly stopped numerous times overwhelmed with gratitude at the generosity of God to provide such places of peace amid such a chaotic world. Around my home there are little spiritual pockets of praise where I’ve passed through and suddenly stopped feeling compelled to worship and thank God for the peace and stillness I was encountering.
“…Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one.”
I John 2:14 NKJV
Within this stillness expect sudden, rapid, targeted movements directed by the hand of God. You will have to respond quickly having been prepared in advance by His Spirit. When you move you will find this heavy hand of the Lord has brought a steadiness and surety to your stride that you’ve never known before.
“But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.”
Psalms 3:3 NKJV
Give in to the peace of the stillness and the power of the solitude offered now. Seek the face of Jesus. Determine to see Him and hold tightly to that image. Practicing His command to “be still and know that I Am God” will prepare you for the sudden rapid movement of His hand in the earth.
We are free from fear, God has commanded us to be not afraid, therefore we are fully liberated to be struck by awe and wonder as Heavenly engagement becomes visible in the earth. Power is erupting from your places of solitude.
Upon waking this morning I heard:
“Be still and know that He is God.
Be still and trust that He is good.
Be still and wait in His presence.
Be still and absorb His peace.
Be still and grow strong.
Be still and prepare for a sudden violent eruption of Kingdom power from within the stillness!
