Those Who Are Faithful To Watch Will Be The First To See!

Those Who Are Faithful To Watch Will Be The First To See

Last night at a prayer gathering in Baton Rouge I was speaking with friends who serve in a local mega church. They were recounting the plans of the church in preparation for Christmas. They will host 5 elaborate Christmas services complete with children’s choirs and a production. They mentioned that people would be in costumes illustrating the story of Christmas some dressed as shepherds. When I heard the word “shepherds” it struck a chord in my spirit and I immediately stopped to listen to the Lord.

“That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Suddenly your faithfulness will be rewarded.

Some shepherds are standing on “old wells”. You’ve stewarded these old gushing points. Your faithfulness is about to be rewarded, repurposed, revisited.

On that glorious night it was the shepherds who were the first to encounter the majesty of a new move of God in the earth. What had been mundane became exhilarating all because they were watching!

You who have been faithfully watching and waiting are about to be mystified by the move of God in your midst.

Contemplate what you have been shepherding. Is it a ministry, a part of a ministry, an assignment, a small group, a business, your family, a friend, a call or a gift? Take account of the things you have faithfully covered in prayer, are you expecting breakthrough? Are you watching for the glory to appear?

Today the Lord is turning our attention to the glorious outcome of faithfulness.

Consider the shepherds on this famous night in history. They were watching and they witnessed the moment Heaven came down.

“You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth, even those who sail on distant seas.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭65‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A conversion is taking place when you pray. Today pray with the knowledge that you are highlighting an issue where God desires to move. You are marking a place on earth where Heaven will come down. Then be like these shepherds, watch and you will be the first to see!
