Warring For The New Wineskin

Warring For The New Wine Skin

“Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭9‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We have gone as far as we can in the current wineskin. Heaven is steadily pouring out new wine and individuals, groups, entire churches, even our nation is fighting to enter the new!

Many are experiencing great frustration as they struggle to hold the new wine in an old wine skin. It does not work. It is not designed to work.

Fortunately the Lord has left instructions allowing us to enter and hold the new:

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Being open to seeing the same old things in a completely new way will reveal a fresh path forward.

For example you may have a difficult relationship, a constant struggle, then suddenly one day you learn something new about that person and the path forward is illuminated before you.

Another facet of the new wine skin is working to establish new patterns in your life.

Yesterday my youngest son expressed a desire to fast in a particular way this month in order to war against Ramadan. After discussing this with him Holy Spirit reminded me of this verse:

““Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh? Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭58‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Fasting doesn’t always involve denying yourself. Hosea 6:6 “For I desire mercy, not sacrifice,…” Try “fasting” to establishing new habits and patterns in your life. New areas of focus. New behaviors.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Finally we must look for the new! “Behold” is a command. Look and you will see the new moves of God in the earth. Move into the new. Move with the new!

If you as an individual can attain the new wineskin you will be a carrier of the new move of God in the earth.
