“‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’”
Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV
Call on His name and as you walk with Him, He will show you things about an area others do not see!
Remembering a beloved French teacher, who taught me from 4th-6th grade, today I am visiting her native country Belgium. As a child I marveled at hearing she was from Belgium knowing it was a French speaking country and wondering what it was like.
Entering the vast town square the buildings became more opulent and distinguished. Suddenly a massive gothic cathedral dating back to the 1600’s came into view. My youngest son was irresistibly drawn to it. Begging us to take him in we bought tickets and entered St Paul’s Church. We toured as a family each of us looking in all directions struck by the numerous depictions of the life of Christ which adorned every wall in various forms. Some were stained glass masterpieces others elaborate woods carvings and still others were painted or sewn into tapestries. This gave us a glimpse into the original grandeur of Solomon’s temple built to house the Ark of The Covenant. We found a lovely bench close to one of the many alters, sat down together joined hands and exalted the name of Jesus in that place. We worshipped, adored and lifted His name high. As we continued through the church I raised my hand and praised His glorious name marking that environment with worship. This was an easy thing to do because Jesus was honored on every wall and in every place your eyes might fall. Because Jesus was the focal point of the church His presence was there in a tangible way.
As our journey continued, my youngest son looked back on this particular day as one of his favorites.
Thank you for this beautiful story. It blessed my heart big time 🙂
